CUSTOM WIDGET DUPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Navigate to “custom widgets” in the studio app of your source IoT server and find the widget you want to duplicate

  2. Click “Edit” on the custom widget you wish to duplicate

  3. Click “Next” after widget is selected for editing

  4. Click “Next”

  5. Click “Finish”

  6. Navigate to the storage manager

  7. Go to “Storage manager > braincubeAppsConf > @braincube > braincubeiot2-contrib-brainstudio > widgets”
  8. Your widget will have a UUID which is a random unique string of characters that will not make sense. However you can identify your widget by the “last modified” date. This should be close to the current time since the modified date was updated in the preceding steps.

  9. Select your widget and click the “rename” button

  10. Rename your widget to something descriptive and add a version number to the end of the name

  11. Select your widget and click “download” in the top right corner

  12. Go to “Storage manager > braincubeAppsConf > @braincube > braincubeiot2-contrib-brainstudio > widgets” in your destination IoT server and upload the widget json from step 10.
    Note: you may have to create the “widgets” folder if it does not exist.
  13. Navigate to “custom widgets” in the studio app of your destination IoT server and you will see your widget
