You would like to migrate your IoT1&2 servers to the last release called IoT Server? You would like to understand how to proceed and the prerequisites to consider?
This article aims to explain the migration process and the important aspects to consider.
Main consideration is to avoid any impacts on your day to day operations or use of Braincube.
A 3-steps process:
1. Prepare:
Please refer to this article : IoT Server Installation Catalog in order to proceed installation of your new IoT Server.
Braincube team will be pleased to assist you during this installation.
2. Extract:
Braincube team will work on the extraction with the help of your team.
Most of the job will be done by us but your team can be helpful for some access. Details about this steps will be discussed during the KickOff Meeting.
3. Validate:
During this steps we will parallel run both system during a defined period (could be one week, one month as per production revelancy).
This phase is required to compare and validate new extractions / flows executions with the old ones.
Milestones will be as follow:
- Kick off: We suggest to treat this as a migration project. Your team and our team should meet to start the project together, ensure everyone know what is going on and why we do it at this moment.
This kick off meeting will be a meeting with your Braincube Leader your IT/OT departement and two persons from Braincube, your Consultant and an IoT Engineer.
After this meeting we will know what are the exact steps for this project, what are the due date of each steps and what are the exact expectations of each steps in your specific case.
- Prerequisites: Prerequisites will be identified for your specific context. This will be based on prerequisites from IoT Server Installation General Information
- Installation: IoT Server will be installed within your infrastructure on your own.
- Extraction flows: Braincube team will set up new extraction flows
- New memory bases: New memory bases will be created by Braincube team on your Braincube platform.
- Parallel extraction: Both system will be runing in parallel for a time period defined during kick off.
- Comparison: Both systems extraction will be compared to ensure no regression after migration
- Closure meeting: Once migration done we will validate it and shutdown old system.
